Sgt. Kieran Kennedy delivered our 1916 commemorative flag on Monday 16th November. He was accompanied by Private John Flynn & was kindly joined by past pupil, Private Murtagh Brennan.

As part of the centenary celebration of the Easter 1916 Rising, members of the Irish Defence Forces are visiting every school to hand deliver an Irish Flag and a copy of the Irish Proclamation.

Sergeant Kieran Kennedy spoke to the children, parents & grandparents about the importance of caring for our National flag. Padraig Treacy read a paragraph from the Proclamation before Ella Keegan and Geoffrey Meade accepted the Tricolour on behalf of the school. The children then had the opportunity to ask questions and we had a fantastic Q&A session.

The children sang a beautiful rendition of Amhrán na bhFiann to conclude.
