Sir will retire on August 26th this year so we had a small party held in the school on Thursday 25th June after our end of year mass attended by all the students and staff of the school.
Kathrine Maher said a few words and all the pupils from Sir’s class presented him with items for his retirement survival kit. All of which, I hope he will use!! He was also presented with some gifts in memory of his years spent in the school. A tree of fingerprints with all associated with Castleiney in 2014/2015, a This is your life photo book, and a slate clock with a picture of the school on it. Johns wife, Maire and children attended as did Fr. Corbett and all staff members. John thanked all the staff and children individually and assured us, he will visit regularly. We concluded with a nice cup of tea and some confectionery. We wish SIR every happiness and good health in his retirement and hope he enjoys every minute of it.
We also wish our only sixth class child Aine well in Secondary school.
