Big thank you to our fantastic school parents council who recently funded a full set of Barringtonstokes books ? and a full set of swap & fix cards to the children of the school. These are a fantastic additions to all.
The Barrington Stokes books are bursting with humour and have fun illustrations.Their books use all the means to be dyslexia-friendly – they are printed on thick, cream-coloured matt paper with good line spacing and concise sentences and the covers are wonderfully vibrant and draw you straight in to their interesting reads.
SWAP and FIX are boxed card games suitable for 2 to 4 players. Each game is a pack of 42 word cards, 8 SWAP/FIX cards and a word list. There are 3, 4, 5 or 6 suits (word families or prefix/suffix types) in each pack.The cards are colourful but uncluttered – each suit, or letter string, is a different colour.
Some of the children had great fun on Friday trying them out.
