On Friday, October 24th, 2014, we had a visit from Mary Arrigan who is a local children’s author from Roscrea. The children were divided in to three groups and each had some time with the author and spent time talking about stories and making a good story. We all said we loved writing stories. They thought about different ways to make up a story and remembered they don’t always have to write it down! We can draw pictures to tell the story or we can use drama too. Mary read parts of her own books and the children had an opoortunity to ask her questions also.

Here are some of the books she read. The children loved them.

Mary was most impressed with our school and of course our children and their amazing imaginations. We were delighted with her kind words about our lovely school.

Can you recognise the children with Mary?  Their Halloween costumes on the day of holidays were fantastic. Teachers had problems recognising them too!
