We had a super science week in Castleiney. We looked at the reactions of mixing certain materials, we experimented & talked about rockets & fuel, we looked at what was needed to make a bridge. We also had Michéle Castiaux in to our school to speak about water as part of the heritage in schools scheme & green schools programme.
We made playdough 🙂
Coke geyser- coke menthos reaction.
Have you noticed what happens if you let the air out of a balloon? The air goes one way and the balloon moves in the opposite direction. Rockets work in much the same way. Exhaust gases coming out of the engine nozzle at high speed push the rocket forward.
We made different kinds of bridges.
and finally Michéle Castiaux came to visit to tell the children all about water and different types of rocks.
